Start to take your Power back NOW

It was about 10 years ago , when I first realized i was giving my own power away to most people i had in my life, like family, friends and coworkers. I really didn’t know my own worth or truth for that matter. I was scared of upsetting people and scared of saying NO.

I knew no Boundaries and quite often was living a life of Should’s, Cant’s , But’s and Why’s…..

Ive learnt to say NO and to place boundaries in my life to take back my Power. I now Choose my day, my moments, and my Life..

It’s been a long path to this stage of my life and i wont say it was easy , and to be honest it is still a work in progress.

The things that worked for me :

  • Don’t try to Change anyone - but be the Change ..

    I engage with people differently now instead of waiting for them to change . I did the changing .. I speak with confidence in myself and when i am challenged , i shift to curiosity instead of judgments of myself or the other person.

  • Be Consistent

    I made small and consistent changes - EG: Gratitude practice each morning with 3 things i feel grateful for .

    Eg; Language - Changing the dialogue from ‘I Cant to I Choose or i Get to … “

  • Leave “ the Permission “ at the door.

    I dropped the need to have permission to be myself at the door and began showing up as who i am ..

  • Follow my own advice

    It’s hard sometimes to take my own advice , however I realized if i suggest something for a client to practice then i need to do that too! Eg: Meditation practice or Breathing techniques.

  • “Failing is the new Exhaling “

    I needed to forgive my shortcomings and rejoice in my new direction and honor the imperfections of the human being that i am..

  • It’s ok

    Each morning i would say this mantra, “its a new day to choose who i want to be”

  • Peace & Purpose

    My ultimate in this life is to live with Peace and Purpose.. This to me means a life with meaning and fulfillment that i get to create… Peace in each moment is difficult , however i keep breathing and remembering how grounded i am in this moment .. (feet firmly planted on Mother Earth with great awareness of the senses, Touch, Taste, Smell, Sight and Hearing ) ..

    And Purpose is such a journey of discovering who you are and who you want to be.. For me it is the path of least resistant of being the therapist who creates that safe space for others to find their own peace and healing.

  • Feel those Feelings !

    No matter what feeling you are experiencing , please allow yourself to feel them and express them in healthy ways so that your not holding onto the past and overthinking the future..

    I found it extremely difficult to know what i was feeling at first. Over time , i was able to become aware of those feelings that i was suppressing and create enough space for those feelings to be felt and honored. I now have practices in place for the space and time i give them and feel much lighter and confident in my own skin.

  • Who are your supporters?

    Find out who your people are and give yourself permission to show up with your pain , sadness and whatever you are feeling in a safe and secure space.

  • New Day , Every Day

    I just love how each new day can represent the start of your new YOU ..

    The day begins again , however , you get to choose what attitude you can give that day , what of your self do you want to give it ?
